So, I haven't had time to update in a very long time. Been busy with school and work and whatever else decides to take up my time! But, I hope to post at least one more time before I return to school in January. Speaking of January that reminds me about New Year's Resolutions. These always pose a challenge to me. I want to be content with the way I am, but somehow I always find something that I know that I need to improve on. For example, a healthy lifestyle/weight loss is always my number one resolution, and it never lasts more than two weeks after I make the resolutions!
This year, however, I want to make being a better person one of my top priorities. So many times I rely on my selfish ways to get me through the day. I don't seem to care very much about other people. As long as I can have everything the way I wanted it, everything will by ok. That is not how I want to think in 2008. I know this sounds cliche but I actually want 08 to be great! So, I'm going to focus on other people and making them happy. In turn, this will make myself happy without even trying to. So, I encourage all of you out there to try really hard to make 2008 not about yourself, but about meeting the needs of those around you.
To a happy, healthy 2008...

Been Awhile
Hey guys,
It's been awhile. I've got one really good story, and then I'm just gonna write whatever's on my mind. Ok, so not too long ago, this woman called the pharmacy where I work. She started talking to the girl that answered and said that she needed some money because her car wouldn't work and her check hadn't come through yet. She just needed enough to buy her some gas and get some cat food. Well, the girl who ansred didn't really know what to do, so she transferred the call to one of my bosses. She took her name and address, and she wrote a check to her. Not only did she just send the check to her, but she collected some items that we have at the store to send to her for no charge. I was lucky enough to get to participate in the gathering of those items. We got her some bottles of water, Gatorade, a Coke and Diet Coke, and some candy bars. It felt so good picking out items to give to this woman. I just felt like I was really helping someone get through a rough time. It really gave me happiness and a great feeling. I loved it. That got me thinking about the phrase "It's more blessed to give than to receive." I truly understood that phrase at that one moment. It was great. So, from here on out, I'm going to try and give a little more...going to be more servantlike. It's actually easier to do than you might think. Just do it...just give love away. It's worth it...I promise.

Update #1
Hey guys! I haven't updated this thing since I launched it the other day. I have several nice things that I have observed since then, so I'll just start listing those random acts!
A) I was waiting to pull out into the line of traffic at Wal-Mart, and an elderly gentleman let me pull out in front of him. I gave him a friendly wave and went on my merry way!
B) At work the other day, one of our delivery drivers put some root beer in our drink cooler. He knows that I drink a lot of root beer at work, and he thought enough about me to put some in the cooler so that I could have some that night at work!
Well, that is all I can think about right now. If I think of any more or experience any more, I'll let you know. Don't forget: you can let me know if anything good happens to any of you guys. Once again, the e-mail address to get things posted is: alovelikethis07@yahoo.com or if you have a blogger account, you can post a comment on here. Don't be shy about this...let the world know about good things that are happening!

Welcome to "A Love Like This"
Hello everyone! Welcome to the new blog entitled "A Love Like This." In case you are wondering what exactly this blog is about, I will fill you in! This blog will be about sharing random acts of kindness that I see or do throughout the day. This is to be an inspiration to everyone. If you do a random act of "niceness," let me know and I will post it on here to share with the world. The e-mail address I will use for this is alovelikethis07@yahoo.com.
Many of you may be wondering, "Why did you create a blog about doing nice things?" Well, I believe that you can change the world through one act of kindness at a time. Just think, if I left a nice tip for the waitress at a restaurant that I went to, she would in turn be in a good mood. Right? Because she got a big tip! Then, she would be nice to her customers, which would encourage them to also leave her a big tip. They would leave feeling good about themselves, and would be nice to someone else. They would essentially "pay it forward."
If we all went about our daily lives aware of this process, think about how many lives we would all change in the process!! Thousands of people would be doing good things for thousands of other people, and so on and so forth. The acts of niceness would grow exponentially! We could change the world, one person at a time!
Just something to think about...
P.S. I will be updating this often...posting the random acts of kindness that I observe or do. Again, if any of you have an act that you want to share, just e-mail me at the address above!
